Brave Animation

The Brief

To create a short animation, an opening credit scene from a movie of our choosing.  The animation has to be in the style of Saul Bass, who was a very influential designer in the 1900s; he had a very distinct geometric flat style.

My Interpretation

I chose one of my favorite childhood movies, Brave.  I picked some famous images like Stonehenge, the bear, the wisps, and an archery target, and made them more stylized.

These were some of my styleframes and Illustrator files where I made my assets before I brought them into After Effects to make the actual animation.  This style was very much in the style that I like, flat colors and very geometric is something I am always drawn to, so this whole project was really fun for me, especially since I have such nostalgia for the movie Brave.
