Cross Platform Branding

The Brief

Create four distinct advertising pieces: a billboard, a double-sided rack card, a Facebook banner, and a magazine ad. The goal is to effectively communicate the brand message and target audience across platforms, ensuring consistent branding.

My Interpretation

The brand I created was called Champions Edge, a sports equipment brand.  I picked four of my favorite sports and some that are very popular, so that each piece had its own personality and sport, yet they all felt cohesive with the same textured background and similar styled characters.

Billboard

For the billboard, I chose tennis because I liked how it fit the wide aspect ratio of the billboard.  I liked the idea of anthropomorphising these sports and having them embody that sport.  I came up with the phrase 'Ace Your Game' because you ace people in tennis, and I wanted a really catchy headline.

Rack Card

For the rack card, I chose basketball; I had the basketball going to dunk.  I thought it was interesting that you have to flip the card over to see the full scene, so it forces people's interest to see what the basketball is dunking.  'Unleash Your Inner Champion' is seen on every one of my pieces because that is the slogan of Champions Edge.

Banner

For the Facebook banner, I chose to do softball because it's a sport that I played for so long, and it's a sport rising in popularity.  I was trying to decide between baseball and softball, but because I played softball, that is what I went for.  Each of my peieces have a simplified color palette that corresponds to the colors of the ball and the field.  I also changed the logo colors to match that sport to make each of the pieces more cohesive.

Magazine Ad

For the magazine ad, I chose soccer since it is one of the most popular sports in the world.  I found it funny that it looks like the soccer ball is about to kick the logo, it kind of looks like a ball itself, which is what I was going for.
