Monologue Posters

The Brief
Pick one of the six famous monologues from a movie and create three posters. One has to have all the words be readable, one you have to read most of the words, and one you don't have to be able to read it.
My Interpretation
I chose a very famous monologue from the end of the movie Jaws. I found the ways that he talked about the shark very interesting. I have added my top two posters from this project
The poster on the right, I picked out a few of the important words from the monologue and made them very big and bold to make them stand out. The poster on the left, I copied the monologue three times and laid them on top of each other to make sure you couldn't read it. I added the word shark in the corner to show how, when he is talking about it, the shark will always be lurking there.
Climate Change Poster

The Brief
Create a visual representation of a climate issue that you can connect with or feel is a big issue that more people should be aware of.
My Interpretation
The issue that I chose to bring light to is ocean pollution. I feel like it has been getting talked about more and more over the past couple of years, but there is nothing people are actively doing about it. I represented three ocean creatures that are being highly impacted. I made them out of trash to really show how we are impacting these animals.
Climate change is something that has always been really important to me. I think it's a really important issue that most artists feel there is nothing we can do to change it, but we can visually show people their impacts on the world through our designs, and that's something that other careers can't do through pure data.
Travel Poster

The Brief
Create a travel poster for the country or state of your choice. You can use any style and any words as long as it represents that country.
My Interpretation
I chose to create a poster for Athens, Greece, because I knew I would be studying abroad there, and I thought it would be fun to create a poster before I went. I took a lot of inspiration from Greek vases, with mostly silhouette figures with minimal decorations, standing on ionic columns that are found all over Greece. I added a texture in the background to look like it was a fresco on a wall
After living in Greece for a semster I think this representation is actually pretty accurate, they put a lot of focus all around the city on the ancient ruins that are scattered throughout. They even have ruins in the train stations. Athens is very focused on preserving their history and showing it off, so I really like what I created before I even knew the full extent.
