Hi, I'm Cecelia!

I am a graphic design student at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. I grew up in Olyphant, Pennsylvania, right next to the city of Scranton!

Art has been an integral part of my life since I was very young. Ever since I can remember, I have always been drawing, doodling, painting, etc. My sister and I used to go to an art studio that held arts and crafts activities for kids, and when I was in fourth grade, my mom let me enroll in art classes at that same studio. There were many mediums and projects to choose from at this studio, and my instructor always let her students explore and express themselves in any way they wanted. My first painting was rough, but through years of weekly classes, I was able to get better and hone my skills. This is where I first started to think that art could be a possibility for my future.

I have always been a very hands-on and physical material artist. However, it is difficult to make a living from painting and drawing alone. So, I began to think about other options and alternatives in the art field. In my high school, we had a few iPads that were available to work on in our art classes. I started to think about working digitally as an option for a future career. I never fully worked in the Adobe programs until my freshman year at Marywood in my Digital Design and Typography classes. In these classes, I learned how to use Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. I also enjoy taking pictures, so I decided to minor in Photography. Currently, I am a part of the Shutterbugs Photography Club at Marywood.

As I continue my journey at Marywood, I will also continue to explore photography and the Adobe programs. I am always striving to learn new skills and improve upon the ones I already possess. I enjoy taking photos, designing posters, spreads, and illustrations, and drawing and painting. I look forward to pushing myself and my skills further and expanding my library of knowledge.
