PORTFOLIO WEBSITE!

My name is Kristina Zenga and I am a graphic designer from Easton, Pennsylvania. I am currently at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I really enjoy studio art such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and photography.

MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY’S

JURIED STUDENT ART EXHIBITION 2022

Image Translation: Nike Air Force 1  won third place in the exhibition.

This series is a combination of four different pieces. Each work is 16 x 20 inches. All are images of Nike’s Air Force 1’s.

The first piece (top left) is a realistic drawing of the sneaker using graphite pencils. To replicate the shoe, a grid system was used. I thoroughly enjoyed this part of the project. I always find myself getting immersed in my work when drawing with a pencil.

The second piece (top right) is a value drawing using grayscale markers. I did a lot of sketching to determine what color placement I liked best. Working on the final piece was a bit scary because the markers are permanent, but I’m happy with how it turned out.

The third piece (bottom left) is a graphic drawing using india ink. This is my least favorite out of the series. I’d like to go back and redo it. Similar to the earlier piece, I did a lot of sketch work to determine the placement of my lines and shapes.

The fourth and final piece (bottom right) is a typographic digital drawing using Adobe Illustrator. This was a tedious process, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. To create the sneaker, I used Nike’s slogan, “Nike Just Do It” over and over again. I used clipping masks and the ‘type on a path’ tool. I am very happy with how this turned out.
