A Little Bit About Me!

Hi, my name is Ella Peplowski! (fun fact: my legal name is Elizabeth, but I've gone by Ella my whole life!) I am from a small town called Ringwood, New Jersey, and I am currently a Junior Graphic Design major at Marywood University in Scranton, PA.  Art has always been a big part of my life, I've been drawing and being creative since I was a little girl. In high school I took a graphic design class and fell in love with it, and I knew that this is what I wanted to do in my life. The digital design world is a whole other realm of possibilities, and I love designing things that will be functional for other people. Graphic Design is all about finding solutions to problems, and one of my favorite aspects of that is using typography. There is so much depth behind a typeface, and I love using that as a tool for communication, whether it be logos, headings, or quite literally anything else that has text on it. While I am in school, a lot of my projects reflect my own personal interests and passions, including nature, music, and my faith. So while I am not in school, you can find me at the gym, at church, reading, spending time with friends and family, and especially in the summer you will see me at every country music concert that I can possibly attend and afford!

Some of my other interests include watercoloring, as well as any sort of print making, I love the hands on aspect of art and design as well. I have taken a screen printing printmaking class, I am currently enrolled in an etching class, and I have highly enjoyed the processes and projects I've created. When I graduate, I hope to acquire a job that allows me to work on both the digital and hands on aspects of design. I am currently interning at Center City Print in Scranton, Pa, assisting on client projects and print production, and I am already learning so much about the real world of design. I can't wait to see what my future holds as I continue to develop my portfolio and gain experience in Graphic Design! Thanks for reading!
